How to Choose CBD Products and Vaporizers

Choosing CBD products and vaporizers starts with understanding what you are buying. A CBD oil, a topical cream, a dry herb vaporizer and a cartridge battery are different products with different purposes. Similar names do not make them interchangeable.

This guide helps shoppers in Malta and Gozo compare different CBD products formats, read product information and choose compatible hardware. There is no single best option for everyone: your preferred format, the product's intended use, your budget and maintenance requirements all matter.

1. Start with the format you are looking for

Separate the practical shopping decision from any medical question. If you are seeking help for persistent pain, anxiety, sleep problems or another health concern, speak with a qualified healthcare professional rather than choosing a retail product from a symptom chart.

Your shopping preference Category to compare What to check
A bottled CBD format CBD oils and tinctures Intended use, total CBD, bottle volume, carrier ingredients and label directions
Individual units rather than a dropper bottle Capsules or gummy and edible formats CBD per unit, other active ingredients, allergens and product status in your market
A product applied to the skin Creams and balms Full ingredient list, fragrance, application instructions and skin suitability
A portable device for dry herb Portable dry herb vaporizers Supported material, heating modes, cleaning, battery and replacement parts
A device for a compatible cartridge 510 vape batteries Cartridge dimensions, connection, resistance and recommended voltage
A dry herb setup mainly for home Desktop vaporizers Power supply, desk space, glass parts and balloon or whip options

Product format alone does not establish safety, effectiveness or permission for a particular use. Follow the specific product label. CBD food and supplement products also require attention to applicable market rules; an online listing or lab report is not proof of regulatory authorisation.

2. Read CBD products label beyond the percentage

Compare the total amount of CBD in milligrams alongside the bottle volume or number of units in your chosen CBD products. A percentage on the front label does not tell you everything about the pack.

For example, a bottle labelled as containing 1,000 mg CBD in 10 ml has a stated concentration of 100 mg/ml. This is a concentration calculation, not a recommended dose. Do not assume a fixed amount per drop unless the manufacturer provides that information.

  • Check which cannabinoid the number refers to. A combined CBD and CBN total is not the same as the CBD amount alone.
  • Read the full formulation. Carrier oils, flavourings, fragrances, melatonin and other ingredients can change whether a product suits you.
  • Compare equivalent formats. Bottle size, unit count and concentration all affect value.
  • Check the intended use. A product sold for skin application is not interchangeable with an oral or inhalation product.

Full-spectrum, broad-spectrum or isolate CBD products?

Full-spectrum generally describes an extract containing several plant compounds and potentially THC. Broad-spectrum generally describes a multi-compound extract processed to remove THC. Isolate refers to a purified individual cannabinoid.

These descriptions are starting points, not substitutes for a batch report. Do not assume that broad-spectrum means a guaranteed zero THC result, or that full-spectrum will work better for everyone.

3. Check what the laboratory report actually tested

A certificate of analysis, or COA, is useful when it clearly identifies the product and batch being sold. Look for the sample details, test date, laboratory and reported results.

  • Batch match: does the report correspond to the batch on the packaging?
  • Cannabinoid results: are CBD, THC and any other advertised cannabinoids reported with clear units?
  • Testing scope: were pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents or microbiological contaminants tested?
  • Detection limits: “not detected” means below the method's detection limit, not a guarantee of absolute absence.

A cannabinoid-only report does not demonstrate that every contaminant has been checked. One tested batch also does not establish consistency across all future batches.

If a report is missing or unclear, ask us about the documentation available for the specific product before purchasing.

4. Match the vaporizer to the material

A dry herb vaporizer, a 510 cartridge battery and an e-liquid device are different systems. Choose the material first, then compatible hardware.

  • Dry herb vaporizers: use a chamber designed for suitable dry plant material.
  • 510 cartridge batteries: power compatible cartridges; a matching thread alone does not guarantee the correct fit or electrical settings.
  • E-liquid devices: require liquids and coils designed to work together.
  • Concentrate-compatible devices: may require a dedicated insert or attachment specified by the manufacturer.

Do not put ordinary CBD dropper oil, MCT oil or hemp seed oil into a vape. Only use materials explicitly intended for the device and route of use. A concentrate attachment does not make a device suitable for every liquid.

Device examples worth comparing

These are starting points based on features, rather than a universal ranking. Check each product page for the current version, price, included accessories and availability.

Model Consider it when... Main point to compare
XMAX V3 Pro You want a portable model with session and on-demand modes Whether you prefer a timed session or heating activated as needed
XMAX Starry V4 You want a portable model with adjustable airflow Draw resistance, controls and how easily you can maintain the mouthpiece
Arizer XQ2 — see our desktop range You mainly use your device at home and want balloon and whip options Table space, mains power and cleaning the glass components

Look beyond the headline specifications

A wide temperature range is only one part of the buying decision. Consider how easy the device is to load, clean and operate, whether replacement parts are available, and what the warranty covers.

Before purchasing accessories, check the exact model and version. Mouthpieces, screens and dosing capsules are not universally interchangeable.

Compare all vaporizers or browse replacement parts and accessories.

5. Compare the total cost

For comparable CBD products, look at pack size, stated CBD content, formulation and available documentation. A higher price or stronger percentage is not, by itself, evidence of better quality.

For devices, include the cost of replacement screens, mouthpieces, cleaning supplies and batteries where applicable. A model with suitable parts and clear support may be more practical than one chosen solely for a low purchase price.

Use customer reviews to assess handling, cleaning and service. Individual reports of health effects do not establish that a product will produce the same result for you.

Before you order

  • I understand the product's intended use and format.
  • I have checked ingredients, quantities and relevant product documentation.
  • My chosen device supports the material I intend to use.
  • I have checked accessory compatibility and maintenance requirements.
  • I have compared the full cost, including delivery and useful replacement parts.

A note on health: CBD products can cause side effects and interact with medicines. Speak with a pharmacist or doctor if you take medication or have a medical condition. Avoid CBD during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Vaping is not risk-free, and non-smokers should not start vaping for wellness.
